How To Pay Kenya Ferry Via Mpesa, Kenya Ferry Services - 26 April
Kenya Ferry Services and Safaricom recently announced a partnership in which customers will be able to pay for services using MPESA. The agreement is aimed at motorists who must pay every time they use ferry services, and because MPESA is widely used, payments will be simplified, removing previous stumbling blocks such as the need for exact change and, of course, the handling of cash.
MPESA has grown to become a household name, with almost every business now accepting payments via the mobile wallet. MPESA has more than 90 percent of the market share due to its simplicity and widespread adoption across the country, including the private and public sectors, and agents can be found in almost every corner of the country.
Speaking about the agreement, Kenya Ferry Services Managing Director Bakari Gowa stated that the solution would allow customers to pay via MPESA, recognizing the company's intention to change with the times and better serve customers. Gowa also stated that the agreement would increase speed and efficiency by automating most functions of the ferry services, including the issuance of passes.
Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa acknowledged MPESA's ability to persuade Kenyans and become the most preferred payment method due to its speed, convenience, and simplicity. Ndegwa also emphasized how MPESA has enabled Kenyans to keep themselves safe by avoiding the use of cash and instead opting for cashless transactions to complete their transactions.
Ndegwa also stated, "We are delighted to forge the partnership with the Kenya Ferry Services to enable quick, easy, and on-the-go payments as customers interact with the ferry services." Every day, Kenya Ferry Services transports over 300,000 pedestrians and over 6,000 vehicles across the Likoni channel.
