How To Stop Promotional Messages On Airtel Kenya 20 April
Spamming people's inboxes is almost out of control in Kenya; just a few years ago, we could honestly enjoy carrying around a phone and expecting only very important messages and calls. In fact, in some cases, people could sign up for an online service that would send messages at random so that others could see you also have active contact lists.
Today, the reality is quite different; a typical Kenyan can expect to receive more than ten promotional messages on items that make no sense to them. While some apps, such as Truecaller, can help to keep some of these spammers at bay, they are constantly evolving with new phone numbers, making it impossible to completely block them without interfering with legitimate messages.
While there are apps that will do this for you, blocking on a network level has always been my preference because they will remain blocked even if you switch mobile phones. Airtel Kenya has a simple feature that allows subscribers to block all promotional messages, allowing them to relax and only receive genuine alerts from their friends and family.
